All Big Fish’s material is co-written with honest themes that frame the personal struggles of modern life which consume us all.
Big Fish’s album Impossible Blue is a varied collection of songs inspired by a yearning for something more, something more than the melancholy of consumerism, the reality of adulthood, how did we get here? ...Are we lost in this hazy dream?
Mariusz comes from an artistic family. His younger sister, Bea, is a well known painter, his youngest brother Krzys, is a graphic artist. His older brother, Eddie, introduced him to the Beatles at a young age leading him, at eight years old, to begin playing the guitar. He started his first band with Czachor when he was seventeen and began making records. In 1995 Mariusz met Michael in Radom, Poland and despited lack of a common language they shared enough musical ideas to start the band Blackbird which Czachor soon joined. In 2004 Mariusz set up a recording studio, TUBA Studios, in London. Mariusz feels that Big Fish’s album Impossible Blue is the fruit of a seed that was planted 20 years ago.

Czachor has worked in the music industry since 1990 coordinating many albums, soundtracks and thousands of recording sessions. During this period he has organised the building 5 of recording studios. He sees music creation as being not merely the sum of its instrumental parts but something more ethereal and unquantifiable. He has strived throughout his musical life to bring atmosphere and gravitas to all the musical projects he has been involved in, from death metal to freeform jazz. Czachor likes to experiment in diverse musical forms. He feels that the essence of Big Fish’s album is that, although the tunes and styles vary throughout, it is all supported by a compact, succinct approach to song writing. He believes that this diverse but consist approach means the music can reach far horizons.

Michael is a veteran of 100 different jobs one of which took him to Poland in 1995 where he met Mariusz and Czachor. Over the years since Michael has lived in Saudia Arabia and Azerbaijan playing and singing in several bands in the process. For Michael, the writing and creation of music is the only means to express and even escape the mundane worries of everyday existence. For him Big Fish’s album Impossible Blue is the culmination of years of musical and literary yearning.
